2026 Open Enrollment Follow-Up: Important Delta Dental Information

As a follow-up to Open Enrollment, please note the following important information regarding the transition to Delta Dental:

  • New ID Cards: All enrolled members will receive a new Delta Dental ID card by mail.

  • Anthem Members: You will also receive a new Anthem ID card reflecting the removal of dental coverage from your Anthem plan.

  • Orthodontic Treatment in Progress: Members currently receiving orthodontic treatment (braces) should have their orthodontist complete and submit the Orthodontic Takeover Form as soon as possible. Completing this form promptly will help prevent any interruption in payments or coverage for ongoing treatment.

  • Kaiser Members: Members who switched from one Kaiser plan to another will not receive a new Kaiser ID card. Only newly enrolled Kaiser members will receive new cards.

  • Timing: Based on carrier enrollment timelines, all new ID cards are expected to be received by August 1.

If you have questions about your dental benefits or ongoing orthodontic treatment, please contact SEBA Healthcare Benefits Administrator, Yohana De La Cruz at (909) 825-4920 or via email at ydelacruz@seba.com.

RETIREMENT GRANT PROGRAM

The SEBA Retiree Grant Program (RGP) is designed to provide financial assistance towards the cost of retiree health insurance premiums to SEBA members who have or plan to retire on or after July 13, 2024. A member’s specific RPG amount will be calculated based on Active Service Units earned for time spent as an active member of the SEBA bargaining unit.

We understand you are all working diligently and are constantly being asked to do more with less, as our job increases in complexity and responsibility. We know the added task of switching medical coverage may seem like just another chore but the investment in your retirement medical costs will pay dividends in the future.

The SEBA Healthcare Trustees are committed to continuously evaluating and enhancing our benefit offerings to ensure our members have best-in-class benefits and service. Our goal is to provide exceptional benefits at extremely competitive costs, ensuring that our members and their families have access to a range of options tailored to their individual needs.

Your health and well-being are and always will be our top priority. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to the SEBA Benefits Office at (909) 825-4920.

RETIREMENT GRANT CALCULATOR

You can use the attached calculator to easily estimate what your grant will look like at retirement. The Active Service Unit (ASU) is awarded to SEBA members upon retirement, with one unit earned for each month of service from your Union Join Date to your Retirement Date. Months are rounded to the nearest month, and the calculator will do the math for you so you can see your estimated total.
