Andrew Nunez
Deputy Sheriff Andrew Nunez was shot and killed shortly after arriving at a residence in Rancho Cucamonga. He had been responding to a report that an armed man was threatening a woman at the location. As Deputy Nunez approached, the suspect opened fire, striking him in the head before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
Deputy Nunez had served with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for six years. He is survived by his wife—who was expecting their second daughter at the time of his death—their two-year-old daughter, his mother, and four siblings.
